Using Terms & Conditions
CanopyFlow (Skydive Landing Pattern Planning) is a non-commercial, personal hobby project. It is a visualization aid for pre-jump briefings only. It is NOT a certified navigation system, safety-critical device, flight instrument, air-traffic tool, or substitute for qualified instruction.
By clicking "I understand and accept" below, you irrevocably acknowledge and agree to ALL of the following terms. If you do not agree to every term, you must not use this tool.
- 1. Reference Only. All information, data, maps, wind values, waypoints, altitudes, headings, diagrams, calculations, and recommendations displayed by CanopyFlow are provided for informational and reference purposes only. They are approximations based on simplified models and third-party data.
- 2. 100% User Responsibility. You accept sole and exclusive responsibility for any and all decisions, actions, omissions, or consequences arising from your use of, interpretation of, or reliance on any information provided by this tool. You assume 100% of the risk.
- 3. Inherent Danger. Skydiving, parachuting, and canopy flight are inherently dangerous activities that may result in serious injury, permanent disability, or death. This risk cannot be eliminated.
- 4. Mandatory On-Site Verification. You must always verify the landing pattern with your instructor, the dropzone staff, the ground pattern indicator (PLA), the wind sock, and your own direct observation — on site, before every single jump. CanopyFlow must never be used as the sole or primary source for any operational decision.
- 5. "AS IS" — No Warranty. CanopyFlow is provided strictly "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, availability, uninterrupted access, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Wind data is forecast-based and may be incorrect or unavailable. Maps and tiles are provided by third parties and may be outdated, misaligned, or wrong. Physics calculations are simplified approximations.
- 6. Complete Release & Waiver of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the developer (Will), contributors, hosts, and any third-party data or service providers (including but not limited to Open-Meteo, Windy, Google, Leaflet, Vercel, and any tile or map provider) from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, or expenses — including those arising from negligence — related to your use of this tool.
- 7. No Liability for Damages. Under no circumstances shall the developer or any contributor or data provider be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to personal injury, wrongful death, emotional distress, property damage, loss of equipment, loss of life, loss of data, loss of profit, or any other loss, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of, or inability to use, CanopyFlow — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
- 8. Indemnification. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developer, contributors, and data providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your use of CanopyFlow, your violation of these terms, or your skydiving activities.
- 9. User Eligibility. You represent and warrant that you are a licensed skydiver, or a student under the direct supervision of a certified instructor, and that you are legally and physically qualified to skydive. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable dropzone rules, aviation regulations, and local laws.
- 10. No Professional Advice. Nothing presented here constitutes professional aviation, medical, safety, legal, or instructional advice. CanopyFlow does not create an instructor-student, advisor, or fiduciary relationship of any kind.
- 11. Third-Party Services. CanopyFlow displays data from third-party services whose accuracy, availability, and terms of service are outside the developer's control. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies.
- 12. Severability. If any provision of this disclaimer is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
- 13. Entire Agreement. This disclaimer constitutes the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding use of CanopyFlow and supersedes any prior understandings or communications.
